David Telles is a Xicano filmmaker from Oakland California. He began his career working in documentary film and directing music videos. Both mediums continue to influence his work today as a narrative writer director. David believes that stories can be medicine.
Erik Phillips

He produced his first film, The Bay’s Team, which won the American Cultures Research award at UC Berkeley. Using a documentary style approach, he blends elements of realism into each one of his stories, revealing both the nuance and beauty within some of life’s most painful moments.
